Walking in the finisher’s anointing

These blog articles are for Christian or non-christian who wants a deeper understanding and insight about the kingdom of God. I believe these inspired articles will shift your thinking and cultivate your spirit to know and understand your role and purpose on this earth.

Joshua 1:1-9

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

1. Joshua was reminded that he must do what was written. It wasn’t enough for him just to hear and read the word, or to commend and admire it, or to just know and remember it, or for him to speak and reason it out, but it was recommended that he does it.

2. He had to do according to all that was written, without exception or reserve and must have total respect for God’s commandments, even those most displeasing to his flesh.

3. The Lord told him not to turn from it, either in his practice or in any act of governmental pressure.

4. He was told to be strong and courageous, which should strengthen his faith and give him the pleasure of doing according to what the law dictates.

What is most important to know is that those selected and empowered to rule, and lead must first learn to hear and obey. Disobedience is so destructive that it has the potential to disqualify the qualified if not corrected.

Joshua was a man of excellence and integrity. What was even greater was that he was hungry after God’s presence. He was a great example of wisdom, courage, fidelity, and piety to all that are in places of public trust.Joshua was anointed and handpicked by God to do great exploits.

Numbers 27:18

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;”

Joshua was trained up in subjection and under command. The scriptures say he ministered unto Moses.

Now we see here the baton being transferred to Joshua

Deuteronomy 31:14

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.”

The Lord told Joshua that every place that the sole of his foot shall tread upon (within the following bounds) shall be his own. All he had to do was to set his foot upon it, and he would have it.”

This was a great encouragement to Joshua. At the beginning of this assignment, he was sure of reaching the finish line and guaranteed that his labor would not be in vain.

Joshua knew the people he was called to lead into the promised land.

Joshua knew that the people he was about to lead were sinful and rebellious. He was with Moses throughout the wilderness journey and would see how they almost drove him crazy. And now Joshua was about to take over the role of leadership.

But despite this, God promised Joshua complete success that even the enemy could not make any headway against him; he would have constant success all the days of his life.

To walk faithfully in God’s promises will require you to also walk in his words.

You cannot separate the precept of God from the promises of God.

Philippians 1:6

“being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

One of the easiest things a person can do is to do nothing at all but even worse is for them to start to do something and don’t complete it. But even more destructive is to begin in the spirit and try to finish in the flesh.

There is a parable in the scripture that talks about a man who was invited to a wedding banquet but arrived in the wrong attire. Why did he do this because he had the wrong motive or assumption? He believed that he could do whatever he wants, and they had to accept him. But according to the scripture, he was cast out of that banquet.

Once you are in God’s presence you have every that is of him. That means you get his peace, his joy, his love, his grace, his mercies, his light, his power, his anointing, his favors, his blessings, his spirit, his protections, his guidance, his provisions, and the manifestation of his promises.

You need to know that God doesn’t live in time, but he is outside of time. We must give God all the respect and honour that is due to him and nothing less. The truth is that once you accept and give your life to Jesus; you are always in him, and he is in you.

Let me put it another way God is always in the same place and the same state which means that God has never changed and will never change.

God was the same God in the Old Testament and is the same God now.

Whatever you read that God did in the Old Testament he is still able and ready to do again for you and even more. Failure is always guaranteed to anyone not walking by God’s spirit and Revelatory truth. A God-given assignment cannot be completed in the flesh, nor can it be fulfilled by human intellect.

All you need to finish the race is God’s grace.

God had already provided us with the grace needed to finish well and strong.

Looking through the scriptures, you would realize that the Lord always finishes what he starts.

And you can also finish the race you have started because you were made in the image of God.

And the race is not for the swift, but it is for those who endure to the end. The Lord is not bipolar, nor is he a liar. The Lord is the embodiment of truth and excellence. Just as how the Lord delivered the Israelites out of Egyptian captivity, he will deliver you from everything that wants to hold you captive.  Just as how God rescued the three Hebrew boys from the fire of the furnace, he can do the same for you.

Just as Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood, he can do the same for you. Just as how the Lord caused the dogs to lick the bones of that wicked witch Jezebel, he will also cause every witch chasing you to come to an end. God has anointed you to finish and by God’s grace you will finish well and strong.
