How to know God is About to Bless You

The journey of faith is one filled with times of uncertainty, blessings, ups and downs, and many other situations. Sometimes it is hard to tell if the path we are taking will lead us to God’s blessings. Often, our human nature expects and desires only good things to happen to us. We forget that even in the wilderness, God can release His blessings upon us. In Romans 8:28, the Bible says that in all things, God works for our good. The statement ‘our good’ symbolizes the blessings that come into our lives in every season. God follows no specific formula when He wants to bless you. However, there are several things that can reveal to us that God’s blessings are along the way.

Throughout the Bible, we read about stories of individuals and communities experiencing God’s blessings in different ways. Whether it was Abraham receiving the promise of descendants as numerous as the stars, Moses leading the Israelites out of bondage, or the early disciples spreading the gospel across nations, God’s blessings were evident. As believers, we must recognize signs that God is about to pour out His blessings upon us.

Below are some revelations of God’s blessings that may resonate with your current season of life. If all or any of the signs listed below are happening in your life right now, then rest assured you are about to be blessed beyond measure.

·        Deepened Spiritual Hunger

One of the clearest signs that God is preparing to bless you is an intensified desire for Him. In Matthew 6:33, the Bible says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” When we deepen our relationship with God and strengthen our spiritual life, there’s no doubt that we are headed to paths of abundance. The Bible says that when we seek God’s face, other things will be given to us as well. This includes the blessings He has in store for each of us. You might find yourself craving more extended periods of prayer, diving deeper into Scripture, or seeking fellowship with other believers. This hunger is not born out of obligation but from a genuine longing to know God more intimately. The psalmist writes, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God,” (Psalm 42:1). When your soul thirsts for God in such a way, be encouraged; He is drawing you closer to Himself in preparation for what He has in store.

·        Doors Opening Unexpectedly

Often, when God is about to bless you, He will open doors that seemed firmly shut. These opportunities may come in the form of a new job, a chance to serve in ministry, or unexpected financial provision. The Apostle Paul experienced this firsthand when doors opened for him to preach the gospel in new regions, despite facing numerous challenges, (1 Corinthians 16:9). When you encounter unforeseen opportunities and breakthroughs aligning with God’s will, recognize them as divine interventions paving the way for His blessings.

·        Peace Amidst Uncertainty

The world we live in today is characterized by chaos, unrest, fear, and worry. A lot of things happen that can deny us calm and peace of mind. Therefore, a sense of peace in your mind can be a sign that God is about to bless you. This peace transcends human understanding and serves as a reassurance of God’s sovereignty over your life. Jesus promised His disciples, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid,” (John 14:27). When you find yourself resting in God’s peace, even in the midst of challenges, trust that He is about to manifest His promises and blessings in your life.

·        Increased Opportunities to Serve

God often prepares our hearts for blessings by providing opportunities to serve others. Jesus exemplified this servant-heartedness throughout His ministry, teaching His disciples the importance of humility. When you find yourself drawn to serve others, whether through acts of kindness, compassion, volunteering, or sharing the gospel, recognize it as a sign of God’s blessing. As you pour into others, God will undoubtedly pour into you, (Acts 20:35). The Bible in Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” When you find yourself willing to serve and help other people who are in need, God is preparing you for divine blessings.  

·        Confirmation Through Other People

God often speaks to us through His Word, prompting in our hearts, and godly counsel from trusted believers. In the Bible, He used prophets and angels to announce good news and reports of blessings to mankind. In the Old Testament, He used angels to announce to Abraham concerning the blessings of a child that would happen a year later. He also used prophets to announce news of victory and restoration to the Israelites. In the New Testament, we see the angel of God announcing the good news of the birth of Jesus to Mary. God is still the same God; He uses other people to reveal to us what He plans to do in our lives. He can use your church minister, a parent, or even a stranger to reveal the good plan He has for you.

For example, in 1 Samuel 1:17 (NIV), the Bible reads, “Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.” These were the words of a man of God, confirming to Hannah that God’s blessing of the child she had been praying for was on the way. 

·        Answered Prayers

The Bible says that if we need anything, we should go before the Lord in prayer and ask Him to do it for us. However, sometimes we experience unanswered prayers while other times they take time to get answered. But this is not the case when God is about to bless us. A prayer of a person who is about to be blessed by God is always answered immediately. God shows up in His faithfulness and meets our heart desires. Therefore, if you notice that every prayer you present before God is being answered, it is one of the signs that He is about to bless you abundantly.   

·        God Provides the Resources You Need

Another way that God uses to reveal that He is about to bless us is by providing the resources we need in life. When He wants to bless you, He will miraculously provide you with money for school fees, finances to start your business, materials needed for your dream home, and any other thing you may need. Ephesians 3:20 (NIV) says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” God can provide the resources we never thought we would ever have just to prove to us that He is blessing us.  

·        Grace and Favor

God also reveals that He is about to bless us when He grants us favor and grace. God’s favor and grace lead us to paths of success, prosperity, and abundance. They help us get noticed even when we don’t meet the requirements needed. By the grace of God, we get promoted at work, our businesses flourish, and we excel in areas we never thought we could. Take the example of Joseph, a young slave who was favored by God. He prospered in everything he did and he ended up a very successful man in a foreign land. Genesis 39:2 (NIV) says, “The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.”

·        Destiny Helpers

Isaiah 46:11 (NIV) says, “From the east, I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.” God uses destiny helpers who will help us walk toward the life that God destined for us.

·        Separation

Sometimes God distances us from some people before He blesses us. He separated Abraham from Lot before blessing him. When people start distancing themselves from you, do not feel bad. Instead, prepare yourself for the blessings that God is going to send your way.

Recognizing the signs that God is about to bless you requires spiritual discernment, faith, and a heart attuned to His voice. As you journey with God, cultivate a spirit of gratitude, humility, and obedience, knowing that He who began a good work in you will carry it to completion (Philippians 1:6).
